Myth 1: My telematics technology already addresses safety...

Telematics technology can be a great solution for addressing speeding, fuel consumption, route efficiency and harsh driving.  Without video, fleets are missing the most important part of the story.  Most claims can be definitively solved with video evidence.  When your fleet is accused of causing an accident or property damage, video can quickly dismiss false claims or not-at-fault incidents.  When your fleet is at fault, claims are settled quickly, with far less expense.

Myth 2: Our drivers are being watched...

SureCam’s technology only notifies fleets when a preset event occurs (harsh brake, near miss, collision, etc.) based on trigger settings to capture the events you care about.  For fleets that are highly sensitive to driver reaction, our road-facing camera never records inside of the cab.  Most incidents where the driver is not-at-fault can be proved with a road-facing camera, which confirms lane discipline, speed and right-of-way.

Myth 3: Our drivers will quit...

In our many years of working with top fleets in the US and UK, we haven't experienced drivers quitting because of cameras.  From fleets of 5 vehicles, to 5,000, we see drivers embrace camera technology, especially as they personally benefit from exoneration and dismissed false claims.  The key is proper communication, and demonstrating the benefits for drivers.  SureCam partners with fleets to help in this process.

Myth 4: I don’t have enough time to review videos…

Safety is top of mind for most fleets, and SureCam was designed for operators with busy schedules. SureCam is an event-based recorder, meaning the user is only receiving the most relevant video, when they need it the most.  The SureCam system detects harsh events so when an event occurs the cellular-connected device sends the relevant video to SureCam’s software platform. Additionally, the device settings can be configured remotely, so users can manage how much or little video is received.

Myth 5: We can’t afford cameras right now…

Any investment in technology has real cost. The key is understanding the benefit and ROI.  SureCam’s customers, typically see payback in less than 12-months.  SureCam client Sam Lansberry Jr. of Lansberry Trucking says he views "SureCam as a profit-center, not a cost.”  Last year alone, SureCam contributed toward reducing Lansberry’s claims costs by over 80%.
